Community Cats of Mountain Road

This is my personal project of documenting my local feral colonies and promoting TNVR efforts.

In addition, this is a personal project of mine to maintain a website that will go into detail about everything related to cats. Because it gives me an excuse to exorcise my hyperfixations, and to hopefully inspire others to care more deeply about these creatures (and their fellow people!).

Meet the Colony!

These are the community cats currently residing in our vicinity (that I've seen). Tracking them helps us monitor their health and ensure they are all ear-tipped and fixed.

Solid gray long-haired unneutered male.

TNVR Needed. Is likely to be particularly trap-shy due to having previously been caught, but escaped during a crate transfer.

Pale orange short-haired tabby with a white tail-tip. Unneutered male.

TNVR Needed.

Short-haired solid black. Unknown sex.

TNVR presumably needed.

Solid gray short-haired unspayed female. Believed to have kittens at the moment, location unknown. They are est. ~1mo old (born end of July/early August).

TNVR Needed; kittens need to be found first.

Dilute blue and pale orange tortoiseshell short-haired female. Presumed unspayed.

Still currently trying to find where her kittens from her litter prior to her spay spend their time, so they can be caught as well.

What is TNVR?

Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Return is the only humane and effective method for managing community cat populations. Cats are humanely trapped, spayed and/or neutered, vaccinated against rabies and feline distemper (and in some cases, avian influenza, if there's reason to believe they may be exposed), ear-tipped for easy identification from a distance, and returned back to their outdoor home.
